Please note that any preference in a late application may be dealt with after all 'on-time' preferences, particularly if the preference is for a school that is not in the City of York area, is an academy, faith, or voluntary aided school. This is because the decision to accept these preferences is not one which is for the City of York Council to make.
Before making a school admissions application - you should consider the information that is recommended all applicants read in the Guide for Parents, and consult the maps in the Guide to School Catchment Areas. Only persons resident in York and with parental responsibility for a child may apply for a school for that child via this portal. Please note that once you have submitted your application and we have downloaded it, you will not be able to make further changes.
